Bergen  Harbour

Bergen Harbour covers a vast area of 30 KM2. Vessels of 245 M (800`)lenght and drawing10,6M (35`) can berth alongside the public quays.

Passenger liners bert at Skoltegrunnskaien (720M) and Dokkeskjærskaien (910M), equipped with cranes, both equipped with rail tracks and connections for placin telephones on board.

At Hegrenestet grain silos are 77M and the quay has 10M (33`) depth alongside.

Vågen has a total quay length of 2600M with depths 6-8M (20-22`).

Nøstekaien has 270M Quay with RO/RO facilities.

Sydnes has 130M Quay with 8M (26`) depth and a ramp for 60T mobile units. Further a container quay of 200M length with 10M depth and 13.000M2 storage area.2 Contrailers.

Jekteviken has 300M quay with 8,9M (26`) depth and a ramp for 60T mobile units. 13.000 M2 storage area and 2 contrailers are available. The quay is mainly used for container vessels.

Damsgårdssundet is spanned by a road bridge, Puddefjordsbroen, with a vertical clearance of 27,55M (90`) at MLW. At HTN bank Møhlenpriskaien is 250M long with depths of 5-7M )16-23`).

Frieleneskaien is placed between Dokkeskjærskaien and Møhlenpriskaien. It has a total length of 210M and a draft of 30`. It is mainly used by linervessels in traffic along the Norwegian coast.

Tanker terminals for vessels up to 215M (700`) lenght and max draft 11M (36`) at Skarholmen, Florvåg and Skålevik at the west entrance and at Eidsvåg 5 north of the city. Several smaller oil installations are used for coastal traffic and bunkering.

Numerous private Quays and jetties,many equipped for special purposes, are situated at the waterfront.

In the district of the Bergen area, Knarrevik, close south of the road bridge, have several factories. The Talcium mill has 140M quay with 4,4-5,0M depths.

Vaksdal, in the deep Sørfjord, 26 miles north of bergen, has the Vaksdal mill with 150M, 98 M with depths of 7-21,5M alongside.

The bergen Postdistrict include: Askøy, Austrheim, Bergen, Fedje, Fjell, Lindås, Meland, Os, Radøy, Sund and Øygarden.
